As you constantly see the glory of the candidate and their stardom. What you don't see are the campaign staffers working constantly. As they work endless hours by going door to door, phone banking, setting up meet and greet events, setting up donations for their candidate, preparing commercials, entering and reentering data on the race. There isn't much glory in it at all. However from my personal experience of it all, its worth it. Knowing that it was your time and your effort to elected someone is an amazing feeling! And even if you do spend 2 to 3 months on a campaign and loss it give you the ability to continue to work on your craft and skills. You meet new people along the way and you from a bond from the heartbreak more than you do during a succesful campaign. So if y our not really interested in politics just volunteer. Who knows who you might meet and maybe you will be less cynical about the American democratic system. But if you want to get you hands muddy in politics this is a perfect way to start the process towards your future. Sure! its slow, frustrating and endless. In other words being involved in politics is like being in a relationship (lol). But if you work hard you might end up has a full time staffer or a candidate in the future. But as you look inside a campaign office look at the people calling and the people going out to walk they are the the road to nowhere so why don't you come inside.
